Blogging Traffic Secrets
6 Tips For Driving Traffic To Your Blog
Your blog can attract lots of eyeballs, but only if your blog and content it is done right, and if you work at increasing your traffic. There are some secrets to driving traffic to your blog, and if you really work at these strategies, you will get more and more traffic.
Here are my top six secrets for driving traffic to your blog.
1. Content - Create high quality content that is rich with your keywords and phrases. This brings two main benefits. First, high quality and useful content will keep your website’s visitors interested in what you have to say. Secondly, if you provide original great content that is not found anywhere else, you will get on-going reocurring traffic. And a third reason for great content, is that people do business with people they know, like and trust. Provide great content and you become a trusted source. And then become a trusted vendo.
In addition, fresh content with your keywords will tell the search engines what your blog articles are about. And the search engines will bring visitors. But don't use PLR for your blog articles. Even if you re-write them, don't use them. The only use of PLR is for ideas. That's it. For more on writing good, quality blog content, see How to Write for Your Blog.
2. SEO Your Blog - Optimizing your titles for search engines is also an effective way of driving traffic to your website. Optimize your blog posts by using keywords in the post titles and meta description tags. Also use these keywords three to five times in the body of the post. Doing this will improve your visibility by the search engines. Your website will also rank higher for all your long tail keywords, driving even more traffic to your website.
3. List Building - Use email marketing with your blog. This is an effective way of bringing readers back to your blog as well as selling products and services to the people on your list. By using an autoresponder, you can send emails to your list about updates to your blog, hence recycling and driving traffic back to your blog. Build a list! I practice what I preach. If you notice, you are either on my list and getting the free 10 day mini-course delivered by email, or you are encouraged to join! A list allows you to develop a relationship with the people on your list. And it allows you to recycle that traffic.
4. Socialize It! - If you aren't using Facebook or Twitter and integrating these into your blog, then you are missing out on a huge source of free traffic. There are several great plugins for Wordpress which makes Facebooking and Tweeting easier. In fact, on my personal blog, I create a post, and my blog automatically sends an update to my Facebook wall and sends a Tweet out on Twitter. Very cool. Setup a Facebook fan page for your website and get those tweets and wall posts going!
5. RSS Feeds - An RSS feed is a great way to keep people coming back to your blog. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. People subscribe to a RSS feed, and if there are changes to your blog, your feed will notify people, and then they come back to your website. Also very cool. This is a great traffic tool. So every time you make a new blog post. Make it easy for your readers to subscribe to RSS readers - and make sure your blog has the RSS feed set up and working.
6. Article Publishing - Create new articles (don't reuse the ones you have) and submit these articles to article directories such as eZineArticles.com. Writing and submitting articles is one of the most excellent strategies for traffic generation. If you write real articles with real content, traffic and readers will show up on your blog.
These six strategies can significantly increase the volume of traffic to your blog or website.
Each one by itself is not enough. But taken together, you can create a sustained traffic to your website.
